Apple Crumble Bars
Guys, these Apple Crumble Bars are heavenly. ♥
These bars are made up of two thick and buttery crumb layers (seriously, so good!), and filled with a layer of juicy apple chunks that are generously coated in cinnamon.
My whole family loved them, and it was very hard to stop at just one! You need to make these bars right now – you won’t be disappointed. 🙂

Ingredients you’ll need
Here’s a list of ingredients you’ll need to make these bars. You can find my recipe card at the bottom of this post for the complete list with their amounts.
- Plain/all-purpose flour
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Unsalted butter
- Light brown sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Apples: You’ll need 4 small/medium apples.
- Juice from small lemon
- Cornflour/cornstarch
- Ground cinnamon
- Ground nutmeg
How to make Apple Crumble Bars
To make these bars, simply whisk together the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla.
Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, and mix together using a fork to create a crumbly mixture.
Press half of the crumb mixture into the base of an 8×8-inch square baking pan lined with parchment paper or foil.
Add the apple chunks to a small bowl, and mix in the lemon juice, cornflour, and spices until the apples are fully coated.
Spoon the apple chunks on top of the crumb base and spread out evenly.
Top the apples with the remaining crumble mixture, and press down gently. Bake for 35 – 40 minutes until golden brown around the edges.
Allow to cool completely in the pan on wire rack before cutting into bars.
I like to place my pan in the freezer for 1 – 2 hours to speed up the cooling process.
The printable recipe card with the FULL list of ingredients and instructions can be found at the bottom of this post.
NOTE: For best results, I highly recommend using the gram measurements (with a digital scale), rather than the cup measurements.
Cup measurements are simply not accurate enough, and I cannot guarantee the best results if you use them.
