Ingredients you’ll need

Here’s a list of ingredients you’ll need to make these cakes. You can find my recipe card at the bottom of this post for the complete list with their amounts.

  • Nutella: Or any other hazelnut chocolate spread.
  • Large egg
  • Milk: Any type you prefer.
  • Plain/all-purpose flour

How to make Nutella Mug Cake

To make this mug cake, simply grab a small mixing bowl and whisk together the Nutella, egg, and milk until combined.

Add the flour and and mix in until completely combined.

Divide the mixture between two small microwave-safe mugs or two small ramekins (I used two 4-oz ramekins), and heat for 45 – 50 seconds (800W).

NOTE: All microwaves are different and can yield different results (like a burnt, tough cake). My microwave is 800W and I cooked mine on 100% power for 50 seconds. Knowing this may help you better judge how long to cook yours for. I recommend checking on the cake after the 30 second mark.

Top with extra Nutella, or a scoop of ice cream. Serve and enjoy!

  1. This is the first mug cake I’ve tried that actually turned into a cake. It’s a decent dessert if you have a craving for something sweet. I added some frozen berries which added a bit more flavour. Very nice 🙂
