Ingredients you’ll need
Here’s a list of ingredients you’ll need to make this recipe. You can find my recipe card at the bottom of this post for the complete list with their amounts.
- Double/heavy cream: Cold, straight from the fridge.
- Icing/powdered sugar
- Cocoa powder: I love and use Dr. Oetker Fine Dark Cocoa Powder.
- Vanilla extract
How to make Chocolate Whipped Cream
To make this whipped cream, simply add the cream, icing sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract to a large mixing bowl.
TIP: Freeze the mixing bowl (and the whisk attachments) beforehand – preferably for 10 – 15 minutes. This will ensure the whipped cream has stiffer peaks, meaning it will be more stable without the need of gelatine.
Using a handheld or stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, whip until stiff peaks form (holds its shape and can be scooped up with a spoon or spatula).
Keep refrigerated until ready to use/serve.
The printable recipe card with the FULL list of ingredients and instructions can be found at the bottom of this post.
NOTE: For best results, I highly recommend using the gram measurements (with a digital scale), rather than the cup measurements.
Cup measurements are simply not accurate enough, and I cannot guarantee the best results if you use them.
This Chocolate Whipped Cream is:
- super quick and easy to make
- made with only 4 simple ingredients
- deliciously light and creamy
- rich in chocolate flavour
How long will this chocolate whipped cream last? This whipped cream will stay fresh, kept in an airtight container, in the fridge for up to 3 days.

It probably can last for up to 3 days, but in our house, it didn't last that long, lol. My kids loved it with some fresh strawberries, thanks!
